An integral part of DuPont™ Weatherization Systems, DuPont™ Commercial Sealant further completes the commercial product system by helping to protect against air and water infiltration at critical interface areas, such as window and door installations. This UV resistant, high performance sealant was developed for use in higher design pressure (wind load) applications that are typical in the rugged environment of today’s commercial building construction.
DuPont™ Commercial Sealant exhibits excellent adhesion to all DuPont™ Tyvek® weather barriers and has been specifically formulated and tested to ensure the highest level of quality and performance when used in a wide variety of commercial construction applications. The cured sealant is durable and flexible enough to accommodate ±25 percent movement of original joint dimension when installed in a properly designed weatherseal joint. In addition to protecting against water infiltration that could lead to mold and mildew in wall structures, the sealant, as a part of the air barrier system, also contributes to energy-efficiency and helps reduce heating and cooling costs by reducing air flow through the building.
How It Works:
DuPont™ Commercial Sealant is easy to use, easy to clean-up, and features excellent adhesion to all DuPont™ Weatherization Systems commercial products and a wide range of general building substrates. When cured, the sealant is durable and flexible enough to accommodate +_25 movement of original joint dimension. It helps to create an elastomeric, protective barrier to increase energy efficiency, reduce heating and cooling costs, and help protect against water infiltration. Your commercial structures will also benefit from the excellent weatherability of DuPont™ Commercial Sealant, as it is virtually unaffected by sunlight, snow, rain, ozone and temperature extremes.
