DuPont™ Tyvek® Tape
DuPont™ Tyvek® Tape is the best available seam tape for sealing DuPont™ Tyvek® water-resistive barriers because it provides a continuous barrier against air and water infiltration. Think of it as the final step in reducing elemental intrusion; the creation of a protective envelope sealed with DuPont™ Tyvek® Tape. Constructed of an oriented polypropylene film coated with a specially formulated permanent acrylic adhesive, this seam tape is a strong, easy to use, and highly waterproof accessory in the DuPont™ Weatherization Systems.
How It Works:
Using DuPont™ Tyvek® Tape after wrapping to seal seams in the weather barrier is the best practice for maximum benefit of the building envelope. DuPont™ Tyvek® Tape features a specially engineered adhesive for the best adhesion to DuPont™ Tyvek® weather barriers.

As a part of the DuPont Weatherization Systems, DuPont™ Tyvek® Tape effectively seals the seams of DuPont™ Tyvek® weather barriers, allowing the system to meet the building envelope requirements of the ASHRAE 90.1 Model Energy Code and the Wisconsin Energy code (ASTM E1677 and/or ASTM E23571). As a part of the DuPont™ Weatherization Systems, DuPont™ Tyvek® Tape may help contribute towards LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points, and DuPont qualifies its DuPont™ Tyvek® Tape as compliant to the Canadian Construction Materials Centre Technical Guide for Sheathing Tape (CCMC 07281) testing standard.
