Precision Cleaning

Precision cleaning requires that the surface of the object must be completely free of spots, oil, dust and other imperfections. The cleaning criteria may be so stringent that the part may need to be free of fingerprints.

Parts may be complex shapes with micro or blind holes where solvent or water (if aqueous cleaning is used) may get trapped.

DuPont™ Vertrel® specialty fluids offer a convenient and affordable solution to address this problem. Ideally used in a vapor degreaser, DuPont™ Vertrel® can dissolve light oils, light grease, fingerprints and other contaminants. The main properties of DuPont™ Vertrel® that make it ideal for such applications are its low surface tension (hence better "wetting" properties), and a low boiling point that ensures no entrapment and a clean dry surface.
