DuPont Engineering Polymers and ENSINGER terminate partnership for distributing VespelĀ® Parts and Shapes in Germany and the United Kingdom

DuPont Engineering Polymers and the ENSINGER Group, Nufringen, have mutually agreed to terminate their partnership for the distribution of DuPont™ Vespel® parts and shapes in Germany and the United Kingdom, effective March 31st, 2009. In the future both parties will pursue their own marketing strategies.

The ENSINGER Group started to distribute Vespel® parts and shapes in Germany and the United Kingdom in 2000 and could explore new market segments for this high performance material. “DuPont Engineering Polymers thanks the Ensinger Group for their successful cooperation and distribution of our Vespel® offering for so many years”, comments Dr. Juergen Krey, distribution manager Vespel® Western Europe.

Both companies will continue their close relationship regarding other engineering polymers. The ENSINGER Group is a significant buyer of DuPont™ Delrin® polyacetal and DuPont™ Zytel® polyamide.

DuPont Engineering Polymers will announce in a separate communication its plans regarding the new distribution structure in Germany and the United Kingdom for Vespel®.

The ENSINGER Group concentrates on the development, processing and distribution of semi-finished materials, thermoplastic profiles and technical parts from industrial plastics and high temperature engineering plastics. ENSINGER uses a variety of manufacturing processes, especially extrusion, machining and injection moulding. With 1,800 employees in 24 manufacturing facilities or sales offices the family business is represented in all major industrial regions worldwide.

The DuPont Engineering Polymers business manufactures and sells Crastin® PBT and Rynite® PET thermoplastic polyester resins, Delrin® acetal resins, Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomers, DuPont™ ETPV engineering thermoplastic vulcanizates, Minlon® mineral-reinforced nylon resins, Thermx® PCT polycyclohexylene dimethylterephthalates, Tynex® nylon filaments, Vespel® parts and shapes, Zenite® liquid crystal polymers and Zytel® nylon resins and Zytel® HTN high-performance polyamides.
