Pump reliability technology can be enhanced with DuPont™ Vespel® parts by replacing metal and composite materials used for pump wear rings and throat bushings. Vespel® parts are the ultimate solution in chemical and creep resistance for both valve and mechanical plates and seals, as well as for pump and compressor components, gaskets, thrust washers, bearings and bushings. Using Vespel® parts can allow for increased mechanical seal life, reduced risk of seizure, increased efficiency and reduced repair costs. Addressing safety issues in oil and gas, DuPont™ Kevlar® and Nomex® fibers from DuPont Protection Technologies provide thermal, mechanical and chemical protection to oil and gas workers. The benefits of Kevlar® include providing the reinforcement layer in thermoplastic umbilicals and flexible risers, as well as other innovative safety applications such as escape chutes for offshore installations.
