Seal rings (7) for automatic DP0 and AL4 transmissions located at the accumulator, the oil pump shaft and the hydraulic lock-up system areas.
Benefits Gained
Vespel® seal rings are not inclined to break nor to get deformed which leads to quick and very easy assembly thus ensuring higher productivity.
Materials Selected and Why
Vespel® was chosen because it provides a much better sealing than cast iron and therefore improves hydraulic control of the transmission functions. Vespel® polyimide has a high resistance to hydraulic oils and keeps all its mechanical properties and behavior at temperatures commonly experienced in automatic transmissions. The low wear properties of Vespel® also give a high level of sealing during all the life of the transmission.
