Benefits Gained
Aids accuracy. The excellent dimensional stability of the Vespel® parts helps assure accurate measurements over a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions.
Resists high temperatures. Vespel® parts can serve at temperatures far above Schlumberger’s current maximum service rating of 400°F (204°C) for the flowmeter.
Fights stress. Thanks to their toughness and strength, the Vespel® bobbin parts withstand the stresses imposed by handling and winding.
Materials Selected and Why
Vespel® with 15% graphite was chosen for its heat and wear resistance, low friction performance and high compressive strength. SP21 maintains very good dimensional stability between -40°C and +150°C or even higher. Vespel® can easily be over-moulded and machined to final precise dimensions.
