Benefits Gained
Seal rings made of Vespel® used in the oil pump and the active controlling wheel help maximize the reliability and reduce the oil leakage. Seal rings of Vespel® are easy to assemble, and this operation can be done automatically.
Materials Selected and Why
Vespel® was chosen because it meets the needs for sealing in CVT transmissions. It has low wear resulting in reliable operation in extreme conditions e.g. pressure up to 35 bar combined with speeds from 0-10000 rpm.
