A two-roller DF-design instead of a single roller design helped to minimize cost. With its outstanding properties, Vespel® could fulfill the professional power-tool requirements increasing reliability, lifetime and outperforming PEEK. By using extremely small rollers, Bosch’s innovative compact belt sander improves sanding in corners and on edges, on small angled areas and in tight recesses with very high abrasive rates. This is the world’s first compact belt sander of this kind.
Materials Selected and Why
Vespel® was chosen for its high wear resistance, toughness and inherent lubrication. It does not melt and resists high impact and creep with excellent dimensional stability at 11000 rpm and up to 130°C.
