Materials Selected and Why

Vespel® polyimide resin was chosen for the hub bushings because it provides non-melting, ultra-high temperature resistance and dimensional stability. In addition, parts of Vespel® offer excellent wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction, providing long, reliable life without lubrication.

Minlon® polyimide resin was chosen for the hub bushings because it provides non-melting, ultra-high temperature resistance and dimensional stability. In addition, parts of Vespel® offer excellent wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction, providing long, reliable life without lubrication.

Combined, hub bushings of Vespel® and Minlon® breeze through exposure to heat in the copier’s fixing area with no significant creep or wear at axis contact points.
