Welcome to the DuPont Washington Works Web Site!

DuPont Washington Works
We are proud to be part of the Mid-Ohio Valley and we work hard every day to uphold the highest standards of safe plant operation for the protection of our employees, our environment and our community. Our plant is located along the banks of the Ohio River just south of Parkersburg, West Virginia. The plant was named for George Washington who was the first to survey the area. DuPont began manufacturing here in 1948. We are among the largest DuPont manufacturing facilities in the world with 7 different businesses located here at our 700-acre site. In addition to the production area, we also own historic Blennerhassett Island which we lease to the State of West Virginia for $1/year for use as a State Park. We manufacture almost 700 million pounds of product used in various automotive, food industry, building/construction and household items. We appreciate your interest in our site and our community.

Sincerely,

William H. "Bill" Hopkins
