Leather protected with Hydrology™ offers a variety of benefits, including:

• Weather-resistant: Leather repels water - making it safe to wear even in the worst weather conditions.
• Fast Drying: Resists water absorption and dries in half the time of conventionally tanned leather.
• Washable/Dryable in household appliances: Convenient and easy to care for, and leather products retain their original fit (see below).
• Colorfast: Colors don't bleed or fade as the leather becomes wet or is laundered; Color won't rub off.
• Breathable: Leather stays soft and supple even after multiple wash-dry cycles; And, because the leather is breathable it provides excellent air moisture management and comfort.
• Stain-and-soil-resistant: Using DuPont™ Teflon® technology, leather repels dirt, grime and water-based stains such as coffee, tea, fruit drinks, sodas and ketchup. Stains wash out easily.

LX Platform Products are a superior performing line of fluorotelomer products based on existing DuPont Teflon®, Zonyl® and Foraperle® chemistries used to make durable water-, oil- and stain- resistant products for use in leather drum tanning and spray coating applications.

• DuPont’s new manufacturing process will remove greater than 97% of all trace levels of PFOA*, its homologues and direct precursors from the LX Platform Products and the products will continue to maintain superior performance. 
• LX Platform Products are expected to be drop-in replacement products that do not require new equipment or investments, causing no disruption or delay for customers.
• LX Platform Products will continue to be listed on existing global regulatory clearances, including the US (TSCA), Europe (EINECS), Canada (DSL) and Japan (ENCS).
