Sustainable Clothing that’s Soft, Comfortable and Fast-Drying
With Sorona®, everyone benefits. Mills, designers and manufacturers can offer consumers sustainable clothing that is supremely wearable, easy to care for and more gentle on the planet.
DuPont™ Sorona® takes sustainable clothing to new levels of performance and style. It offers a variety of performance benefits and is versatile enough to adapt to all different types of fibers and fabrics.
Key Benefits of Sorona®
Sorona® renewably sourced fiber delivers superior performance benefits to sustainable clothing. Fabrics that use Sorona® are very soft, very strong and dry quickly. Sorona® helps fabrics stretch comfortably and retain their shape. And for mills and manufacturers, fabrics with Sorona® can be dyed at a lower temperature and maintain their color fastness.
Blends Well with Other Fibers
One of the best features of Sorona® is that it enhances the attributes of other fibers used in sustainable clothing. Sorona® fiber can be blended with any other fiber, including cotton, linen, wool, nylon and polyester. In cotton and linen blends, Sorona® provides softness and comfort stretch with less wrinkles. Wool’s softness and durability are enhanced when blended with Sorona®.
Adapts to the Needs of Each Apparel Use
Sorona® provides unique benefits based on the needs of the end use apparel item. For example, intimate apparel benefits from luxurious softness, active outdoor and denim clothing benefit from stretch and outerwear clothing benefits from shape retention.
Designed for Performance. Derived from Nature.
Sorona® contains 37% annually renewable plant-based ingredients by weight (28% bio-based carbon). From polymer production, to extrusion at lower temperatures, to lower dyeing temperatures to easy care for consumers, Sorona® renewably sourced fiber provides sustainability benefits throughout the value chain. For apparel designers, mills and manufacturers looking to produce the sustainable clothing consumers want with the performance benefits they require, Sorona® is always in fashion.
