In 2002, DuPont and Energocontract began combining their knowledge and expertise to provide arc flash protection, made of DuPont™ Nomex®, to Russian electrical companies. The film centers on Andrey Valentinovich Krasnov, who in April 2011, directly encountered an arc-flash incident and survived. We follow Andrey, his work colleague and his wife, as they unveil the dangers that electrical workers can encounter and how his arc flash protective clothing helped saved his life.
Helmut Eichinger, DuPont, reveals how the science behind DuPont™ Nomex® helped saved Andrey’s life while Alexander Bolshunov, Director General of Energocontract, discusses the reasons the company felt DuPont™ Nomex® was one of the key ingredients in the design and production of their protective clothing.
As the film concludes, a representative of the Ministry of Energy explains how Russia’s electricity industry continues to keep worker safety as a top priority.
