As the world’s most populous nation and biggest energy consumer, China renewable energy strategies are in the world’s best interest. Today, China accounts for 12% of global energy demand. And, boosted by a rapidly growing economy, its energy consumption is growing four times faster than that of the rest of the world.
China recognizes that sustainable development is not possible without clean, renewable energy. DuPont, together with government and business partners, is applying advanced science to create innovative China renewable energy solutions.
For example, DuPont products help optimize the efficiency of silicon-based photovoltaic panels used in China’s largest thin-film photovoltaic rooftop installation. DuPont™ Zytel®, a short-fiber, reinforced nylon resin, replaces conventional automotive metal parts, making the car frame lighter, but still safe. And DuPont™ Sorona® polymer is a renewably-sourced, fiber-grade material used in apparel and carpets. Its production uses 30% less energy and lowers greenhouse gas emissions by 63% compared to nylon 6.
Learn about China renewable energy solutions and the steps China is taking to meet its soaring demand for energy while protecting its fragile environment and helping mitigate global climate change.
