DuPont recently hosted a media briefing to reiterate its commitment to global food security and development in China. The briefing was held in China and journalists from approximately 20 influential general and food industry trade media outlets participated.
Fabienne Saadane-Oaks, a DuPont Nutrition & Health leader, told the media about DuPont Food Security Goals and the concept of The Global Collaboratory™.
“We build on our science to bring innovative solutions that help address the global needs for healthier and safer food,” Fabienne said. “We establish measurable goals for what we can do to increase food security in the Asia Pacific region and across the globe."
Jun Xu, Public Affairs leader for DuPont China, spoke about DuPont Nutrition & Health businesses in China. He discussed examples of food innovation that DuPont introduced in China and solutions brought to the local market through collaboration. Tony Andrew, senior director, Asia Pacific Specialty Sales, Solae™, addressed inquiries about the Solae™ business.
DuPont food security goals, to be achieved by the end of 2020, include innovating to feed the world, engaging and educating youth, and improving rural communities.
As part of the efforts to engage local partners, DuPont participated in Food Ingredients China 2012, which was organized by the China Food Additive Association and was the largest, most authoritative international trade show for the food additives and ingredients industry. More than 1,000 exhibitors from more than 20 countries came together to explore collaboration opportunities.
