The Food Bank of Delaware recently recognized DuPont as the 2012 Corporate Volunteer of the Year.

DuPont Chemicals & Fluoroproducts United Way Days of Caring Coordinator Gary Graham and DuPont Crop Protection Research & Development Director Julia Wheeler were on hand to receive the recognition on behalf of the many volunteers from DuPont.

"It was an inspiring evening, and wonderful recognition from the Food Bank for DuPont," Julia said. "The Food Bank provides a great opportunity for all of us to have a significant and tangible impact on our community."

Last year, more than 35 volunteer groups from DuPont donated nearly 1,200 hours to helping feed the hungry in Delaware. Volunteers sorted, packed, shelved, labeled and packaged food that was destined for church food pantries, after-school programs and other civic organizations.

DuPont also participated in the DelawareCAN program, which collected 6,758 pounds of food for the Food Bank. Additionally, hundreds of pounds of food were collected from various food drives set up by individual DuPont businesses in the Wilmington, Del., area.
