DuPont Services Center India (DSCI) recently celebrated 10 million safe kilometers (km) in transporting 850 employees across 16 shifts, 24 hours a day, six days a week. The transport fleet of DCSI in Hyderabad has accumulated 10 million km since it began operating four years ago. This is the result of closely coordinated efforts between the Facilities Services & Real Estate (FSRE) and Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) teams.
“Our dedication to safety is evident in these results," said Sandeep Mehta, center manager.
The transport fleet includes 200 taxis and operates 24 hours a day, six days a week. It is a major means of transportation, connecting the homes of 850 employees and the center during their 16 shifts each week.
This is a significant achievement in light of the challenging road and traffic conditions in India. The center’s team has demonstrated they can meet this challenge with best-in-class safety and security standards.
“It is a great accomplishment and good demonstration of our safety principle that all incidents can be prevented,” said Balamurugan Subburaj, country SHE leader, commenting on the achievement.
Rigorous and periodic training of drivers, regular fleet functionality check-ups, regular audits and proactive vendor management are key elements of the team's success strategy.
DSCI provides centering and offshore capability to DuPont businesses and functions worldwide. To meet the needs of DuPont operations around the world, the center runs 16 shifts each day.
