DuPont was elected the most favorite brand among multinational companies by Chinese farmers in 2011, according to a survey conducted by the “Farmer Daily,” an influential trade media in China.
"The award well represents Chinese farmers' recognition of the value that DuPont technology brings to improving the quality, yield and safety of their produce. Our China team should be very proud of their outstanding achievements in satisfying growers in a way that is much better than our formidable competitor!" said Elizabeth Lam, DuPont Crop Protection (DCP) director for China, Taiwan and Korea.
The “China Farmers’ Favorite Pesticide Brand” survey was conducted with an aim to improve brand development and communication strategy in China’s pesticide market, while reinforcing the joint responsibility of media, government and agricultural companies to ensure the safety of farm produce.
The survey covered different stakeholders, including 103 crop protection brands in 10 major agricultural counties, 1,000 large acreage grain farmers, 500 vegetable and fruit demonstration park growers and 4,000 technological pilot growers across China. Close to 24,000 votes were cast either online or by paper ballot.
The results were announced at the 2012 Annual Meeting for Analysis and Prospect of China Pesticide Market and Pesticide Brand Award in Beijing. Howard Liu, DCP marketing manager, received the award on behalf of the team.
DCP offers a broad portfolio of brands in China to protect rice, fruits or vegetables from pest damage and to help ensure quality food to feed a growing population. In recent years, DCP has worked with several trade media to raise grower awareness about new technology and product upgrades and the business continues to focus on developing technologies, scientific crop cultivation services and guidance on the responsible use of its products to help growers produce high-quality food crops.
