DuPont is honoring nearly 375 employees as part of the 2012 DuPont Volunteer Recognition program. Established in 1998, the program recognizes employees or teams of employees who devote their time and talents to improve the quality of life in their communities. On behalf of each honoree or honoree team, $1,000 is donated to the organization where the community service is performed.
“The work done by our employee volunteers is critically important to the vitality of the communities where we operate,” said Sylvia S. Banks, manager, DuPont Corporate Contributions. “These community ambassadors create an environment of trust that is an integral part of our core values.”
Grants will be distributed to 200 non-profit organizations in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Canada.
"Our employees are committed to making their communities better places to live and work,” said Sylvia. “They mentor and tutor children, deliver meals to the elderly, work with people with disabilities who engage in athletic pursuits, build homes for the homeless, and are involved in the health and safety of their communities as volunteer firefighters.”
