To further drive collaboration and customer-focused innovation, DuPont Performance Polymers (DPP) recently opened its Collaboration Lab and its first Center of Excellence (COE) for DuPont™ Kalrez® & Vespel® at the Utsunomiya site in Japan. Equipped with state-of-the-art capability, which includes some of the most advanced simulation testing methods, the lab was designed with an open concept to support customers, mainly in the automotive and electronics markets.
Sixty major customers of the Kalrez® and Vespel® parts business were invited to the opening ceremony, where Dave Ritchey, global transportation segment leader for DuPont™ Kalrez® & Vespel®, shared remarks.
“The Collaboration Lab in Utsunomiya is an 'open lab' with its purpose not only to create knowledge, but share that knowledge with customers,” said Dave. “While the lab is built within a DuPont facility, this really is your lab. You and your companies are the reason we built it.
“The lab will be a critical part of a global technology network for Kalrez® & Vespel® to support current and emerging needs of diversified industries, in particular automotive and electronics.”
Bunichi Rai, regional technology manager in AP for Kalrez® & Vespel®, said, “Through collaboration and partnership with strategic customers, we develop unique solutions to meet their toughest challenges."
