DuPont and Tata Chemicals Ltd (TCL) recently signed a distribution alliance agreement, enabling supply and distribution of Crop Protection products through TCL's Tata Kisan Sansar (TKS) network.

"As a result of the hard work of Ramesh Dutt, Institutional Business lead for DuPont Crop Protection, who demonstrated speed and agility in execution of this alliance from concept to commercialization by collaborating with the Tata Chemicals team, this entire farmer base will now have access to Crop Protection products," said Vijay Shrinivas, corporate strategic account leader.

TKS is India’s premier rural agri-retail outlet, offering an entire range of agricultural services, including quality agricultural input products such as fertilizers, seeds and pesticides. Its network is comprised of 750 retail centers across seven states, providing agricultural inputs and services (soil and water testing, contract farming, application and advisory services) to 3 million farmers.

DuPont has found an excellent partner in Tata Chemicals. Its vision is to empower farmers, enrich the land and enhance agricultural productivity. This alliance is an ideal fit with DuPont’s strategy to collaborate with local partners to address the challenges of food productivity.

Agriculture constitutes one quarter of the Indian economy. It employs two-thirds of the nation's workforce and feeds a population of more than 1 billion people. In India, DuPont is focusing on agriculture to accelerate its growth in India.
