Winning in today’s global solid surfaces marketplace comes with dynamic challenges. In addition to brand “star power,” it demands constant innovation, outstanding collaboration, and-- most importantly--the ability to execute safely and efficiently.
Building Innovations President Tim McCann shared this message during a recent visit to the Yerkes site to recognize members of the “Project Nebula Team” for their outstanding efforts to launch the DuPont™ Corian® Private Collection manufacturing capability at the Tonawanda, N.Y., location.
“We’re here to celebrate a great accomplishment for DuPont, the Corian® business and the Yerkes site,” said Tim, who was joined by Paul Slaminko, supply chain leader, and Randy King, manufacturing technology director.
“We put the Yerkes team under a tremendous challenge to meet an aggressive deadline, which required tremendous effort and personal sacrifice,” he said. “The marketplace doesn’t wait, and with the successful implementation of the project, we are on the road to continued success with Corian®.”
DuPont™ Corian® Private Collection sheets feature unique aesthetics, including subtle veining of earth tones, warm hues and fluid patterns. They were previously manufactured exclusively in Ulsan, Korea. Today, the popular range is also rolling off Yerkes’ lines, thanks to manufacturing technology innovation and on-time qualification of market-ready product.
“We’re very grateful to Tim, Paul and Randy for coming to Buffalo to recognize the Yerkes team,” said Ronald Lee, Yerkes Plant manager. “And while we are very appreciative, we should really be recognizing and thanking them for their leadership, which has been so instrumental in making this tremendous opportunity possible. Private Collection is not only the next generation of Corian®; it’s strategic to the future success of the Yerkes site. “
