Benito Cachinero, senior vice president for human resources, recently participated in a formal reaffirmation of DuPont’s commitment to support the employment of U.S. Veterans and Reservists at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).

ESGR is a Department of Defense organization that works to help civilian employers work with their Guard and Reserve employees, as well as highlight the value that members of the National Guard and Reserve add to private companies.

“The Statement of Support for current Guard and Reserve members demonstrates DuPont’s commitment to support current employees who serve,” said Benito. “It is important that companies actively seek to hire veterans as they add staff to address an unemployment rate among America’s veterans that is simply too high.”

Joining Benito at this ceremony was the Honorable Jessica Wright, Assistant U.S. Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs, U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Tom Carper (D-Del.), military and civilian representatives from DuPont and officials from the Department of Defense.

Benito said DuPont is actively hiring veterans, and is proud to work with Sen. Manchin of West Virginia and the other members of the Senate Veterans Jobs Caucus to support the hiring of veterans and reservists and to encourage other companies to make a commitment to do the same.
