Enhanced Heat Shields for Better Performance
The inherent thermal resistance of DuPont™ Nomex® makes it ideal for high-temperature automotive applications, including heat shields and other under-the-bonnet applications.
Sheet structures made of DuPont™ Nomex® fibre are used as heat shields, as well as insulation shields for spark plug leads. Other under-the-bonnet applications include flexible, high-temperature hoses – for instance, the ones that feed hot air to inlet manifolds. Nomex® fibre also helps keep engine bays from overheating, radiator hoses from bursting, and windscreen wipers from failing – however bad the weather gets.
